Eco Tourism Awareness Programme for School Students

On the occasion of World Agri Tourism Day, the Department of Tourism, Government of Uttar Pradesh, and the Uttar Pradesh Eco Tourism Development Board jointly organized an educational visit for students of National Udyog Ashram Inter College, Deva Road, Matiyari, Lucknow, to the “Madhumakkhi Wala” center located in Rajauli, Barabanki district.

During the visit, students received practical knowledge about agri-tourism, beekeeping, and self-employment opportunities.

Experts provided detailed information about different species of honeybees, their life cycle, the process of honey production, various types of honey, and ways to identify pure honey. The students were also informed that honey differs in color, taste, and aroma depending on the flowers from which nectar is collected.

As a special attraction, the students were invited to taste different varieties of honey. This hands-on experience helped them understand that honey does not have a single uniform flavor; rather, its taste and color vary according to its natural floral source.

The unique experience sparked great enthusiasm and curiosity among the children and deepened their understanding of the importance of beekeeping and its potential as a sustainable source of livelihood.
