With the objective of connecting youth with tourism and natural heritage, the Uttar Pradesh Eco Tourism Development Board organizes educational tours. Under this initiative, on Saturday, 21 February 2026, as part of the Youth Tourism program and in collaboration with Easemytrip, around 60 students from PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, SGPGI, Lucknow were taken on an educational excursion to the Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad Bird Sanctuary, Unnao.
The purpose of the visit was to familiarize students with nature, biodiversity, wildlife conservation, and the importance of eco-tourism, enabling them to gain experiential learning in a real natural environment alongside classroom studies.
Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad Bird Sanctuary is a wetland of international importance and is one of the 11 Ramsar sites in the state. Nestled in a serene and lush green environment, the sanctuary is an attractive destination for bird lovers and nature enthusiasts. During the winter season, it becomes a major habitat for various species of migratory birds.
During the educational tour, students explored the nature trails developed along the lake and observed birds and wildlife from watchtowers and view sheds.
